I've seen a couple of bad reviews simply because users purchased this computer with the intent to make it their "gaming" computer, and then were disappointed with the outcome. Check the specs and your game requirements first. If you truly want a gaming computer, you probably shouldn't be looking at Laptops in the first place.

When I was looking to buy this laptop, I had also looked at the 7017 Model which is more expensive. Looking at the specs, I can't really see why that one has so many more reviews. It's the same laptop except THIS one the 6426, has a higher speed processor (2.66GHz vs. 2.53GHz) & a larger hard drive (640GB vs. 500GB). So why buy the 7017 Model for $829.99 when you can buy the better 6426 Model for $677.99? Save the $152 bucks!

I bought mine for $677.99 & paid for two day shipping. The total was around $701 & sure enough it was here two days later. I wouldn't consider the 11.6" because the screen's height has been chopped off 10% (16:9). This screen is 16:10. Those who think that 2.3lbs versus 2.8lbs is a big difference should think again. The smaller one has about 25% battery run time, which means you may want to carry the power adapter. It does not have an SD-card reader, which means another piece of cable (for camera) or card reader to lose. The lack of vertical space causes the user to scroll more. All these reasons combined, the 11.6" holds no advantage over the 13.3"--not to mention the fact that the processor and level-2 cache are not as robust as the 13.3" at the same RAM/SSD configuration.

Now the cons. Too much damn bloatware. I stripped that puppy real quick. I did keep a couple things though.

Overall you have a Porsche but you are paying for a Ford. Beautiful Laptop

Update. After I got home I was looking through everything to find an installation CD. None. The only CD you get is one with drivers. No OS. I highly suggest you make a Backup and Restore CD. I hooked a hard drive up and created a backup image and then made a Restore CD. The laptop comes with a program installed that will re-install some programs, and there is a backup on the partition, but hard drives do fail. The i5 with all the RAM is fast enough for anything I've wanted to do so far, which is generally business usage (powerpoint, word, emailing, slight photo editing, presenting, etc.). I like the keyboard, it seems like these keys have a quick response and my hands slide easily over the keys. I tried another Toshiba out at the store with similar specs to this one, but it had a keyboard with the keys all separated out, and they were a softer, almost rubbery texture. I hated that feel.

For anyone that doesn't NEED Blue-Ray (could always be fixed after-market), an integrated card reader, or HDMI, and prefers the form-factor of a smaller laptop, I highly recommend this Toshiba Satellite. CONS:
The location of dvd drive is low, meaning my right hand always touches it when I pick up the laptop. One speaker, but ehh..just get headphones. I have always had Dell laptops, definitely made the right choice this time. It is fast and easy to use. Only cons are the sound of the speakers could be better and I was not aware that the outside of the laptop was silver, the pics show it more white than it is. It still is a great looking laptop. I am very pleased with it and would definitely recommend.
